The League of Women Voters, founded in 1919, is a nonpartisan volunteer organization which encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy.

Provides a telephone information service for voters
Conducts voter-registration drives
Provides speakers on the political process and public issues
Advocates for change in public policy based on research and study
Publishes a directory of elected officials
Publishes a guide to how New York City government works

As a League member, you will be following in the footsteps of a long line of leaders committed to building better communities and a stronger democracy. As a member of the League of Women Voters of the City of New York you will be eligible to receive a copy of Inside the New York City League and, every other year, They Represent You. You will also receive The National Voter and the NY State Voter.
